What a fantastic day at Ockley Cricket Club!
The day began with a poignant minute's silence in memory of the great Sir Garfield Sobers, a true legend of the game.
A huge thank you to Tony and Chris West from Top Score for generously sponsoring the Surrey XI team shirts, and for the fantastic graphics displayed on their one-of-a-kind scoreboard.
We were then treated to a superb game of cricket, with the Barbados side producing a sensational batting display to post 273/4 from their 25 overs.
Alex Browne led the way with a breathtaking 80 from just 33 balls, including nine sixes, while Romando Browne (60) and Jai Kedia (52) provided excellent support.
The Surrey XI faced a daunting chase and, despite a determined effort, couldn't keep pace with the required run rate, finishing on 159/6 from their 25 overs. Warren Vaughan (52) and Hugo Saunders (29) were the standout performers with the bat.
A special thank you to our umpires, Loll Figg and James Bulbeck, and to Nat Grey for scoring throughout the match.
A particularly special mention goes to John Woods, whose dedication, hard work and passion for Ockley Cricket Club make this fantastic annual event possible year after year. Finally, thank you to everyone who came along, supported the day, and helped make another Barbados Day such a memorable occasion. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!

It was a fantastic day for our village and for Ockley Cricket Club, and it simply wouldn't have been possible without all of our volunteers, sponsors, players, stallholders, entertainers and everyone who came along to support the event.
We're delighted to confirm that Barbados Day will return on Sunday 1st August next year—so put the date in your diary now! The Barbados team have already confirmed they'll be back, and all the stalls and DJs are already booked.
We independently counted close to 1,000 people attending throughout the day, with around 600–700 people on site at one time. What an incredible turnout!
Next year we're aiming to make it even bigger and better. Barbados Day is all about bringing our community together, and everyone is welcome. We look forward to seeing you all again!"
